Why don’t you have a range of standard models?

Well, at this point I don’t have a standard range. This does not mean I wont offer one in future. In fact, I am working on some standard, single and double cut designs right now.

However, up to this point- most of you bass Players have always wanted something unique. And why not-that’s what I’m I’m here for! But stay tuned-I believe I have some nice standard shapes coming soon.

Can you build me a bass just like a (insert well known brand) but with my timber selection etc?

I’d love to build something using your own timber selection!!, Unfortunately I don’t do ‘copies’. If you want a Bass like brand’X’, feel free to go and buy brand ‘X”. Not only can’t I do a copy, but these guys have lawyers way more expensive than I can afford!

I really like your stuff.. but.. I want it in BLACK!

Hmm... That’s a tough one! To be honest…with what I do, and the timbers I have at my disposal, please, again… explain to me WHY you would want to cover a beautiful piece of wood with colour? Everything has a price - does that answer it?

Do I have to have Delano pick-ups in my custom Konig BassworX bass?

Absolutely not! But why would you settle for second best? Having said that, of course any brand you choose can be installed.

Can I supply my hardware, pick-ups, and electronics?

Absolutely!!

Why the long build times?

It must be the German in me! Unless it’s as perfect as I can make it-I just wont let it go. If its not right, I do it again and again, until it is! Also, I do this because I love doing it. If I hurry, the quality suffers-I need to do this kind of work at my pace. This is the only way the customer gets the quality expected.

If I pay in full, can I get priority (jump the que)?

That’s not the way I do business. Before we start, you will be made aware of an expected delivery time/date. During the build you will get continuous updates of the works in progress and how we are progressing with the time schedule.

Can I base my BASS ( pun intended) on  one of your previous designs, but a little like this (insert own idea)

I’d be thrilled to bits, sure!

I want a really elaborate inlay,
dragons and fire etc?

I’ll be honest-its not my strong point  It’s an area I freely admit to needing an improvement in my skills. So for now, I’d have to say no- but subcontracting that kind of work is not out of the question. Note: I do this stuff by hand-not CNC!

Will you do a bolt –on neck?

Sure, and if desired it can be blended so well that its near a neck through!

How about an oil finish?

This can be done! Oil, then waxed etc.. or a selection of finishes.

Can you do me a semi-hollow body bass?

Yes, and what a unique animal that is! The mind boggles with options……

I like your basses…
but I want a Guitar…please?

There are plenty of Guitar guys around-why not try them? But since this is ‘confession time’-the odd one seems to have escaped my workshop!!

I don’t want a custom Konig Bass…
but I would like to try a Clover or a BassLab (perhaps some of the other European brands)?

I’m the guy you want to speak to! WE have a few other BIG European brands coming soon, but the Clovers etc will make you a happy Bass Player indeed. Unfortunately in Australia we have really only been exposed to a limited range of Bass products. These are mostly US and Asian based-whilst the whole time,  the industry in Europe has been ‘going off’ and no-one here has been paying attention to it! I urge you to try some of these Basses and equipment-DEMAND it from your local dealer-or just drop me a line.
